About the song
"Lag Jaa Gale" was written for the 1964 film Woh Kaun Thi?, with music by Madan Mohan and lyrics by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. Lata Mangeshkar sang it for the soundtrack. In an interview with The Quint, the composer's son Sanjeev Kohli recounted that the tune was at first not accepted for the film.
